English pronunciation and spelling can be very challenging, so we recommend making an early start by learning phonics, since skills learnt early will stay with a child throughout their life.
In our phonics classes for primary school students, children will learn to decode, recognise and associate the sounds of the letters of the alphabet they read, helping them to improve their pronunciation, fluency, spelling and reading skills.
Our programme is based on Jolly Phonics™️, the famous and popular British phonics system used in British schools and in over 100 countries worldwide.
Students are taught five core skills:
- Letter sounds: the 42 main letter sounds
- Letter formation: how to form and write letters
- Blending: how to combine sounds in order to read and write new words
- Identifying word sounds: segmenting different word sounds
- Dealing with tricky words: irregular spelling
Our classes are either individual for students who want to learn at their own pace or small groups for those looking for a more dynamic approach.
