Luisa is a veteran Italian teacher, lecturer and translator, who possesses extensive experience in teaching Italian language and arts to a wide range of students, from young learners to adults.
She holds a MA in Modern Languages (English, German and Italian) from Trieste University (Italy) and an MA in English Literature from Kings College (UK), as well as a PGCE of Education from the Welsh Joint Education committee (UK).
As an Educator, Luisa has extensive experience in teaching at different education levels. She started as a lecturer at the Department of Italian Literature and Foreign Languages at Trieste University in Italy. Then she worked as a language teacher (Italian, German and English) at several primary and secondary schools in London and Cardiff in the UK. She has taught Italian language, history, art and literature at the Italian Cultural Institutes in Kyoto and Osaka in Japan, where she was also the promoter of Italian culture.
In Hong Kong, Luisa has been teaching Italian language and cultural awareness at Dante Alighieri Institute and at HKU Space. She also has tutored Italian language and literature at renowned learning centres. Therefore, she is very familiar with a diverse range of school curriculums that includes GCSE / A-levels, and IB.
Luisa has experience not only in teaching Italian language and culture but also in developing and sharing curriculum strategies by integrating arts in language teaching in order to help students develop visual literacy, vocabulary and observation skills.
As a translator and interpreter, Luisa has worked since 1993 delivering high quality translations of business practices and documents. She has also been a speaker on poetry at Dante Alighieri Society, Hong Kong Baptist University and at the Helena May Hong Kong.
Luisa is also a proud member of the Royal Asiatic Society, Royal Geographical Society and Women in Publishing Society here in Hong Kong. This highlights that she is a truly experienced, highly qualified and versatile educator and translator. Thus she is able to provide an interesting insight into both the Italian language and arts in both educational and translation fields.
