CODING COURSES & LESSONS FOR TEENAGERS
IMMERSE’s coding classes for teens are designed to either introduce them to computer languages or enhance their computing skills. All our courses finish with a final project and students will receive an official certificate upon completion.
We currently offer two coding courses for teenagers:
Minecraft Modding
Minecraft is an award winning on-line video game in which players can build up and explore 3D worlds without any limitations. It was first developed and released by the Swedish company Mojang in 2011, and due to its outstanding success was purchased in 2014 by Microsoft, who have since continued to further develop and expand it. Minecraft has sold more than 180 million copies worldwide and has more than 112 million monthly users.
It is very popular with teenagers which is why we chose it. Our course will allow teenagers to learn coding in a fun, stimulating, and creative environment. They will be able to mod (from the word modify, meaning to make partial or minor changes to something) every aspect of Minecraft’s world by learning coding.
There are several ongoing projects around the world that use Minecraft as a way to encourage students to learn coding and even the British government has been considering whether to officially introduce it into its school curriculums.
Web Development (HTML & CSS)
IMMERSE´s web development course allows students to learn the basics of coding for websites in a fun and easy way. Upon completion, students will be able create their very own websites.
The course is divided into two main interconnected languages: HTML (HyperText Markup Language), which is the language used to markup the website content and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), which is the language for web styling.
Students will learn how to design a website structure and layout using HTML and CSS and then learn how to upload it using web development tools.
